She has unparalleled analytical skills, and able to quickly identify the heart of the problem, and then work out solutions based on the constraints of the client. She is result oriented and solution-focused. She has had over 22 years in industry. She has a strong understanding of both strategic and operational business needs, at National and Global levels. She has 10 years experience in setting up and delivering diverse functions.
Legal expertise:
She has been writing contracts since 1995. She has experience in drafting pleadings for civil suits of various types, replying to tax notices, deed writing and legal documentation. She specialises in Contract law, Tax law, IPR and other Civil law.
Service industry expertise:
She served as Global Quality and Customer Satisfaction Manager in Google, the search engine company. In her 4 years there, she established the Quality and CSat functions for customer support in AdWords, Google's main revenue stream.
Manufacturing industry expertise:
Prior to that, in 17 years in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, she worked in corporate planning, capacity planning, project management, project costing, and supply chain management. Later, as a manager, she pioneered two departments: Web, IT & ecommerce, to manage the company's websites; and Market Research. She saved the company several million rupees every year with a systematic approach to innovation. She has also worked closely with the International Finance Corporation, Confederation of Indian Industry, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India, other industry associations, and Government offices during her stint there.
She was also an Engineer in R&D in HCL Ltd, which primed a sustained interest in Design theory.
Training expertise:
Jyoti has run training programs for MSIL supervisors as an external trainer, and for NSE on financial literacy. In her corporate career, she has trained on diverse subjects from IT to projects, Kaizen to design theory, with a rating between 3.5 and 4.5 on a scale of 5. She has run a one-semester course for MBA students on Research and Quantitative Methods. Her most recent training experience is training Internal Complaints Committee members on how to fulfill their duties under The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (which was rated 4.8 on a scale of 5).
Publications:
She has two publications to her credit in academic journals. She has also published a seminal article in A&M magazine on using advertising to support software development (this is prior to even Hotmail and Google).
