A ninja day in the life of an airport supervisor

"And then he stops scrubbing the window and stares out for, like 15 minutes. And then, just when I'm about to go over and tick him off, he turns and comes to me like he's seen a ghost.

"And I ask him, Jojo, what's up?

"And he says he's seen a ninja climb into one of the aircraft. I must have rolled my eyes, because he starts off blabbing more details.

"He says the ninja is almost transparent. It throws a transparent rope up to the aircraft engine and climbs up and falls down and climbs up and falls down.

"So I go to the window with him and ask him to point it out. And he gets all excited and points out, yes, out there where that red airplane is, he points at the engine on the near wing. What? Oh, near wing means the wing that's nearer to us. Yes, it's quite cool to call it a near wing. No, darling, you can't call me your near parent. Honey, that's ... ok, that's funny.

"And what happened next? Right. Dang if there isn't a shimmer that looks like a hazy person trying to climb a shimmering rope.

"I called the ground staff on the walkie talkie at once.

"Anyone guess what it was?

"Honey, let the kids guess first, next time. Yes, it was leaking fuel.

"Jojo saved us all."
